In 2016, armed with just a paper, a pencil and a vision, our founder, Dipen Parbhoo, conceptualised Greywolves Apparel on his family’s dining room table. His dream was to create a high-end fashion label that would bring consumers international quality apparel that did not break the bank.
“Our grandparents didn’t have to worry about quality. In today’s disposable culture, we don’t have that luxury anymore.”
He was on a mission to produce exceptional garments made by South Africans for South Africans - more so after his very own family’s clothing manufacturing business (established in 1961) had been impacted by cheaper imports.
He went back to basics and learnt that the most important factors to gaining maximum comfort and tailoring exceptional garments were a) getting the right fabric and b) perfecting the fit and then using master seamstresses to combine the two. He then collaborated with a few carefully selected, skilled community clothing manufacturers from the Western Cape.
This resulted in the concept becoming a reality - Greywolves was established.
